As an integral part of the Medical Faculty of Mannheim of the University of Heidelberg, we represent a university hospital with a high claim to research and teaching, which is reflected in our international scientific reputation in the area of stroke, with many experimental and clinical research groups. We are also well-established in other areas of neuroscience such as dementia research, movement and gait disorders, neuromuscular diseases and neurological imaging. Current research projects are supported by the EU, the DFG and the BMBF, among other sponsors. We are able to offer the students in our programs of the medical school a unique curriculum consisting of of a nosologically- orientated lecture program, a case-related, symptom-orientated seminar series and practice courses covering instruction at the bedside.
